League Logistics - Hobart Girls Softball (H.G.S.) is a A.S.A. Affiliated youth fast pitch softball league.

The 2009 season brings us 300 plus girls and young women playing in 5 competition divisions, playing ages range from 5 years old and up. H.G.S. ia a privately administrated, non-for-profit league, dependent upon volunteer service, contributions, team sponsors and fund-raising activities to sustain itself. Unlike some other youth sports organizations, H.G.S. is not subsidized y the City of Hobart or any other government entity and is fortunate to own the property on which "The Goss Softball Complex" is currently located. The league is overseen by a Board of Directors which consist of: The Executive Board, made up of the 11 elected officers, President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Purchasing Agent, Cross Town Advisor, Concession Stand Manager, Director of Concession Stand, U.I.C., and Director of Umpires, and 7 elected board members. The remaining director positions are filled with league managers not holding elected positions on the Executive Board. H.G.S. league business is conducted by the Executive Board, with the approval of the Board of Directors. The league holds general meetings, open to all member families, as well as the general public, on the 3rd Sunday of each month, with the exception of December. Monthly general meetings are held at the "Goss Softball Complex," in the conference room above the concession stand. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. THIS IS YOUR LEAGUE, THESE ARE YOUR KIDS, PLEASE GET INVOLVED!!!!!!!!

Players - League play is open o girls and young women, ages 5 - 26 years of age, who reside in Hobart, Hobart Township, New Chicago, Lake Station, Ross Township and any other location that does not offer an organized N.S.A. affiliated league to its female youth. The league is made up of 5 playing divisions based on age groups. They are: Midget Division 5-6 years of age (Tee Ball), Minor Division 7-9 years of age, Major Division 10-12 years of age, Junior Division 13-16 years of age and Senior Division 17-26 years of age. The current playing age cut-off is December 31st of the current playing season. With the exception of the Senior Division teams, which completes in the Northwest Indiana Cross-Town League. HOBART GIRL SOFTBALL HAS NO AFFILIATION WITH, NOR SPONSORS ANY "TRAVELING TEAMS!"
